Global warming is affecting the wine world dramatically. In no region is this more noticeable than in the region of Alsace, in northern France, where up until recently, the Pinot Noir grape produced something between a light red or dark rosé, even in the ripest of vintages. Now, these wines show grace and elegance, but good ripe, classic Pinot Noir aromatics of cherry, earth and plums.
This cuvée, Plan B, is a break with tradition in that the wine was aged in neutral barrels for 10 months. The results are very fine showing more complexity and depth along with the bright cherry fruit flavors. Tannins are soft and well-integrated, making for a harmonious and persistent mouth-fee.
