As in the Côte de Nuits, Trapet produces a minima which in the Alsatian context refers to an estate blend of all their indigenous white varietals vinified and aged with no added sulfites.
Both great purity and clarity are apparent in this wine as it draws a most harmonious expression from many terroirs and varietals. THIS is pure Trapet. Although claiming to lounge in the background allowing the grapes to naturally transform themselves into wine, the winemaker has left a very personal and indelible stamp on the resulting wine. Minimalist and non-interventionalist to the extreme, the components add up to a striking tableau of tense mineral, exotic and primary fermentation notes that already display many of the classical aromatics that we associate with great Alsatian wines. Its lack of sulfites will certainly allow it to exhibit an ever-changing snapshot of Trapet as it develops over time.
