2016 was a small harvest and in Barrel by the end of September. The grapes were harvested in late August at an average of 24 Brix and fermented in open top fermenters for 10-14 days. Our press is a 1906 wood press and ensures a light touch. The vintage was a warm one following a decent rainy season.
Dark fruit and chaparral with the distinctive zin pepper and structure of the Sky fruit shine in the 2016 Zin. The beautiful print, depicts snow on the fire blackened hills of Mt. Veeder with the vineyard below in the winter of 2018. This wine is gorgeous drinking now and will age gracefully for 5 to 10 more years.
