100% Listán Negro. 120+ year old vines. 100% Cordon Trenzado trained vines.
Vineyard: Candio is the name of the ravine that runs through El Barranco, a plot located between 350-450 meters elevation. Clay over volcanic bedrock soils.
Vinification: Alcoholic fermentation takes place in open French oak casks. 50% whole cluster, 35 day maceration. Malolactic and aging in 500L neutral French oak Puncheons. Unfiltered.
This is a more old-style wine showing darker red/purple fruit and a thick textured structure. Tannins are well coated and some garrigue is present in the nose. This is a medium aging wine that will benefit from a few years of bottle age.
