This is a wine with remarkable finesse in its class. Produced from 80% Macabeo and 20% Xarel-lo, it possesses a very slight spritzy quality which reinforces the pleasant minerality of the wine. Xarel-lo is one of the grapes used to produce Cava in the Penedès region of Catalonia, just south of Barcelona, and the similarities are not lost here. The Macabeo provides the body of the wine and brings bright floral notes and good depth. This wine will shine with most foods, but especially with shellfish and other seafood. A great value.
