From the 2014 vintage, this blend of 70% Cabernet Franc and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon is a beautiful example of what these two grapes can do when grown in the right soil. Shiste or shale soils here prove the perfect median for these grapes. The result is a wine that has a rich middle, that is nicely balanced out by the firm, ripe tannins. The nose shows no herbaceous qualities, but rather, dark berry fruit, some earth and game, and an intriguing mineral streak. Very food friendly.
