2015 was a small harvest and in Barrel by the early October. This was in the height of a 5-year drought and the clusters were small as was the berry size. The grapes were a harvested in early September. The crop was harvested at an average of 24 Brix and fermented in open top fermenters for 10-14 days. Our press is a 1906 wood press and ensures a light touch. The vintage had a cold but dry winter and warm dry growing season.
Bountiful black cherries and mountain berries with the distinctive zin pepper and brightness of the Sky fruit are the stars of the 2015 Zin. This wine is very youthful and will age for at least 15 years. The artwork is a print, by Lore depicting the winery standing strong during the 2017 wildfires.
